Club Customs

While the nature of the club and its members does not require detailed rules, there are certain policies and procedures that must be well understood to enhance the enjoyment of the club by all members and guests. At present the following club guidelines are in effect.

Golf Policies:
Windsong Farm is an alternative spike facility.

It is expected that members and their guests will dress in a manner consistent with the traditions of the game and the mission of the Club. Denim is not allowed on the property. The professional staff is required to ensure appropriate attire is worn.

Tee times are not required. Members without an arranged game or with more than one guest are encouraged to call ahead to the professional staff, and they can assist in finding a game or promoting more efficient play. Singles and two-ball games will be paired whenever possible or necessary. Games of fewer than three may not be allowed during periods of heavy play, at the discretion of the professional staff.

The Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association and any Local Rules or Conditions adopted pursuant to those Rules govern all play at Windsong Farm.

It is a strong preference that golfers walk the course. Caddies are not required, but golfers are encouraged to employ caddies to assist in maintaining a viable caddy program. Golfers may carry their clubs or use trolleys. For those unable to walk, a limited number of golf carts are available.

Practice balls are to stay on the practice grounds. Guests are not permitted to use the range without playing a round of golf.

The founding principles of Windsong Farm require an appropriate pace of play. The professional staff is directed to ensure members and guests adhere to pace policy. Golfers who are unable to keep pace and thereby diminish the enjoyment of the game for their fellow members can expect consequences.

Cellular phones and pagers may not be used on the property except in the parking lot. Members and guests with a need to receive urgent messages during a round should notify the professional staff, who will relay the information to the member/guest.

Men, women, and qualified juniors may play at any time, except when the course is reserved for special events. Special events will be approved by the Golf Committee and may include a women's and men's club championship, guest days, club competitions, or other events. During such special events, every effort will be made by the professional staff to allow course access for members and guests who are not participating in the event.

Qualified junior golfers are encouraged to use the course and practice facility at any time, but during times of heavy play may be required to be accompanied by a parent or adult member. A qualified junior golfer is one who can maintain a satisfactory pace of play and a working knowledge of the Rules of Golf and basic etiquette.

Members should expect the course to close from time to time as Windsong Farm will make the golf course available to certain golf associations for the conduct of local, regional, and national competitions, as stated in the founding principles.

Guest Play
All guest rounds must be accompanied by a member.

Guests are welcome at any time except when the course is reserved for special events limited to members.

The Clubhouse
The clubhouse will be open six days a week during the golf season. The clubhouse will not be open, except under special circumstances, during non-golf times.

Members and guests must wear proper attire in the clubhouse. Proper golf attire is permitted. No hats are to be worn in the Clubhouse.

Smoking is not permitted in the clubhouse, locker buildings or golf shop.

Cash gratuities should not be given to any employee. Service charges will be added to food/beverage purchases. Members are expected to inform guests of this policy prior to their arrival at the club.

Members are responsible for all indebtedness incurred by their guests.
